Farmland in Curdiedale becomes expensive | The standard
news, latest news,
A large block of farmland in Curdievale will benefit from new agricultural life. The 275-acre property was sold at an auction Friday at the Timboon RSL Memorial for $ 7,500 an acre. This exceeded the forecast for the sale of $ 6,500. The property has been purchased by a neighbor, who will use the land for dairy farming. The property is currently used for sheep farming. The auction, which took place outside, was not lacking in interest as it drew a COVD-Safe crowd, with bids starting at $ 5,000 an acre. Six bidders were active in the auction, with that interest bringing the price to his sold mark by $ 7,500. Auctioneer Brian Hancock, of Brian O’Halloran Real Estate in Warrnambool, said interest in the property was widespread. “We had bidders from outside the region,” Hancock said. “The auctions were high which was no surprise this was always going to be popular property.”
