Henley’s of Wivenhoe land top fish and chips shop accreditation

An award-winning fish and chip shop is ‘frying up’ after earning top accreditation, putting it among the best in the UK.

Henley’s of Wivenhoe, in Vine Drive, has received accreditation from the National Federation of Fish Friers.

This accreditation sets the benchmark for quality within the industry.

To qualify, each store must go through a virtual inspection by an NFFF accredited appraiser who assesses presentation, hygiene and cleanliness, staff training, equipment, frying and sales skills and most importantly the quality of the cooked product.

The chip shop has been recognized

A spokesperson for Henley’s of Wivenhoe said: ‘We are delighted to earn our place in the scheme.

“To be recognized as one of the top fish and chip shops by the NFFF is indeed an honor and a credit to our hardworking staff, whom I would like to sincerely thank for the hard work and continuous efforts to maintain our excellent reputation.

“I would like to personally thank all of our customers, new and old.

“All businesses have found the coronavirus pandemic extremely difficult and the support and encouragement they have offered has been tremendous.

“It has motivated us to maintain our high standards which have been recognized by this accreditation.”
