ALOR GAJAH, December 13 – Alor Gajah MP Datuk Seri Mohd Redzuan Md Yusof plans to transform Alor Gajah into an agricultural district as part of the Shared Prosperity Vision 2020.
The minister of the Prime Minister’s Department (Special Functions) said he was confident that this could be achieved through smart farming methods that could produce better and more abundant agricultural products.
âWe will also collaborate with Kolej Universiti Agrosains Malaysia (UCAM) and the private sector to introduce smart farming methods in this district on a large scale.
“This will provide a huge opportunity for the Alor Gajah community to raise their standard of living in line with the government’s intention to close the income gap,” he told reporters after the launching ceremony of sustainable agriculture by Alor Gajah at the Bukit Sedanan Felcra program, here. , today.
During the event, 300 farmers received fertilizer and food kits to ease the burden on those affected by the Covid-19 pandemic.
He said his team had identified several participants expressing interest in adopting smart fertilization technology to manage their farms more efficiently.
âEven though the farm is 0.1 hectare, farmers can generate yields of up to RM500,000 if they apply smart farming methods as practiced by farmers in Taiwan,â he added. – Bernama
